We hadn't had a holiday for a while, so Caitlin had a bright idea of saving and taking us all away. Cassandra doesn't like to be left out so she got in on the plan too and together they took us away for a week to the coast. Point proved, my sisters are AWESOME!!! So here's some pictures from when we were away.
Playing UNO together in the afternoon sun.
We spent some time at the beach. Yes, you can tell we live in Canberra when some of us swim in July.
The beach is such a nice place to hang out
I love my Georgie Girl so much!
We played beach soccer. Generally I don't play soccer at home school gatherings and such but we had so much fun.
We also played frisbee
Playing games at night, though "Skipper's Rules" weren't all that easy to follow. It took Dad, Lachlan, and Angus rereading it several times and plenty of discussion and trials runs before we figured it out.
William was in charge of the muffins when we had eggs benedict for breakfast. Oh YUM!!!!
There were five in the bed!!! Yep, Annaliese is comfy!
We visited the zoo. When we went a few years ago this was lions, but I reckon these monkeys are pretty attractive, especially the big dude hangin' off the rope.
The meerkats were so cute.
And so were the otters. They both look like they'd be adorable to cuddle but then I look at those little claws and teeth and I think again.
No, we weren't letting these two guide our trip, but they did like "working" through the map.
The girls' new friends from the zoo. Here we have Delilah, Tallulah, and Penelope. Yep, we go exotic when naming our toys! Annaliese's tiger's full name is Tallulah Pinky Stripy Abby Roberts. What a mouthful!
We also went to see " Despicable Me 2" while we were away. It was the first time we all went to the movies together and I think we made the Narooma cinema's day! :-) It was such a nice family story to boot. I must admit I'm "Despicable Me " fan. Who doesn't love a story with a gorgeous little girl called Agnes who loves unicorns? And doesn't Gru make an awesome dad?!
We also visited the cute little towns around for shopping and I found a newborn pettiskirt which I am itching to try out, along with my new beanbag. I'm super excited about this thing, and I know you probably have no idea why, but it's a "Shoot Baby" bean bag (except for the fact that I haven't filled it yet so at the moment it's just a lump of vinyl). The only thing I need is a newborn baby girl! Anyone have one that I can borrow?
This week we go back to school and teaching and Kidventure. Last week we went to the Focal Point conference. Caitlin was there all week and Lachlan, Angus, Tegan, and I went along in the evenings. The sessions were on the Holy Spirit and were really challenging, so it would have been cool to be able to go for the whole week. It reminded me how great (yet tiring) camps are when you can spend a good chunk of every day studying God's word with other Christians.
Did you do anything exciting in the holidays?
