Words of Wisdom From The Tennis Pro

Angus and I are starting a series of tennis wisdom of which we abound. So I will share my thoughts on some matters and in two weeks time Angus will share his knowledge.

The Future of Australian Tennis

Jelena Dokic's quarter final run in the Australian Open was astounding. I thought it was just a fluke but since then Sam Stosur reached the semis in the French and Lleyton in Wimbledon the quarters. We have really started to improve in the Open Era. Maybe another Australian will reach the US Open semis. Who do you think will make a charge?

Why I hate hard hitting servers

In Lleyton Hewitt's match last night it was so frustrating. When Hewitt got break points. Roddick aces him. I really don't think that's really fair. I don't have a problem with Roddick. He has really improved his groundstroke game a lot especially with his backhand. I really respect him (except for his bad tempers). The ideal server is Roger Federer! He is just so perfect. BUT Ivo Karlovic is the extreme server. He has really got no other great talent except his serve. He beats every body in tie breakers basically. Please don't get me wrong here I'm not saying he is hopeless. He serves better than I do :) ! But I don't find his game enthralling to watch.

So I hope you enjoyed my wisdom and learnt from it . Please share your thoughts.

Come on Safina!
Come on Federer!

Just to clarify, Lachlan wrote this post not me. I just realized that it never mentioned who the author of the post was.

Rebekah, I'm sure someone will let you know. :)

Go Murray!!!!!

About hard-hitting servers...I thought Serena Williams' serving against Dementieva yesterday was quite lethal. It seemed that every time Dementieva had a break point or was gaining the upper hand under Serena's service, Serena aced her. She served 20 aces in all, to Dementieva's 3!

Doth my ears deceive me? Or did I hear a victorious cry of the great Rodger Federer?
